MAY IS NATIONAL PHYSICAL FITNESS AND SPORTS MONTH
Regular physical activity is fun, and good for everyone's health! All people can find some ways to get moving. Take advantage of the spring weather to take the dog for a walk, go for a bike ride, or dance til you drop. Here are just a few benefits of physical activity:
• Children and teens – Physical activity can improve muscular fitness as well as bone and heart health and energy
• Adults – Physical activity can lower the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer.
• Older adults – Physical activity can keep muscles moving, lower the risk of falls and improve brain functions (like learning and judgment skills).
Pick up a book to help inspire you to be more physically active in 2017!
