Dear Fabulous Families -
Happy New Year! We hope that your family had a wonderful time together celebrating the holidays. It has been great to have our students and staff back together this week.
We anticipate the St. Louis City Department of Health will have a press conference tomorrow and will be releasing updated guidance in regards to COVID-19 and schools. We look forward to new information being shared and the impact it may have on our school.
Thank you for your flexibility with the late start on Monday. Students and staff gave it a thumbs up!

Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! As we review this past year and begin the new year, it can be a time to reflect and be mindful of our gifts and challenges. The link below uses the Ignatian Examen to guide a short reflection. May we be aware of God's presence in us, among all people, and in all creatures.

In January, we focus and learn about the Catholic Social Teaching of:
Dignity of the Human Person
We are called to ask whether our actions as a society respect or threaten the life and dignity of the human person.
Please pray for Pope Francis' intention for January:
We pray for all those suffering from religious discrimination and persecution; may their rights and dignity be respected.
Important Dates for Sacraments:
First Communion Parent Meeting- Thursday, April 7th, at 6:30 pm in church
First Communion- Sunday, May 1st at 2:00 pm
Confirmation:

We continue to celebrate our Thursday, All School Masses, on the school parking lot if the weather permits. Otherwise, the grade level of the class that is planning the Mass attends in person at church. The rest of the school live-streams the service. Eucharist Ministers bring Communion to the classrooms.
For our level Masses on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the grade level of the homeroom that is planning will be in attendance at the Mass. We are grateful for the parents, grandparents and relatives that are able to join us for Mass.

Adult Faith Classes to Begin
FAITH & RACIAL JUSTICE LEARNING EXPERIENCES
Are you wondering what all this conversation is about regarding the telling of the history of our country?
Would you like to learn more so you can understand more?
St. Gabriel’s will be offering two learning opportunities from JustFaith Ministries:
Faith & Racial Equity and Faith & Racial Justice
With faith as our starting point, these two classes invite people to learn and understand our history of race and our role in systemic racism
so we can follow in the footsteps of Jesus and help create an equitable and just society. Faith & Racial Equity is open to all;
you need to have participated in Faith & Racial Equity or Faith & Racial Healing in order to take the Faith & Racial Justice class.
The dates and times are yet to be determined but will begin in January. Please contact Megan Dolton at (314) 629-6143
or jmcdolton@gmail.com or Cris Fischer at (507) 269-6268 or crisfischer@icloud.com for more information.
STRUGGLING TO COMMUNICATE IN DIVIDED TIMES?

WANT TO TALK? Communication Tools for Divided Times will guide you in deepening your relationships while staying true to your values, whether you find yourself navigating a heated disagreement with a spouse, interrupting racism in the office, facilitating political tension in church, or working for systemic change around any justice issue.
The class will be held - by Zoom - on Thursday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 pm beginning January 6, 2022 and will be facilitated by CSC members, Vaughn Meister and Cris Fischer. The cost is $45.00.
