Formative Assessment Tools
It is very important to be able to collect a quick snapshot of who knows your content and who doesn't in order to adjust instruction. Below is a list of tools that you can use in your classroom for formative assessment. You can track student performance and get quick data - allowing you to quickly intervene with your students. Each of these can be used with BYOD on student devices or with your classroom devices.
Go Formative
Formative is a tool that allows you to monitor students while they work. It grades work for you if you enter a key, and allows you to adjust those grades if you choose. You can create video content and questions for students to answer. You can also upload an assignment that you already had made and make it interactive.
Quizizz
Teachers and students love Quizizz because it is fun! Of course, it also provides teachers with instant data on student performance. Quizizz is a game - like assessment where students proceed through a quiz at their own pace while getting feedback from kid-friendly memes. Quizizz connects to Google Classroom and also has a homework feature that allows the kids to play at home for extra practice. Track who does the extra work and how they do!
Socrative
Socrative is a traditional assessment tools where students join your room and take a quiz created by the teacher. What makes this tool great is that variety of ways kids can take their quiz. There is a space race option where students are divided into teams and work together to compete the quiz.
Kahoot
Kahoot is another game based formative assessment option, only this tool is timed and students get points for both the correct answer and their speed. This is a great tool for when you need students to be able to quickly recall information.
Edueto
Edueto is a free tool to create online assessments that can be accessed on any device. .

- Picture tagging
- Sequencing items
Teachers can setup classes and track student data or just send out a link for a quick quiz.
Nearpod
Nearpod is a great tool to deliver information and collect formative assessment data at the same time. Deliver in synchronized mode in class or upgrade your account and provide the lessons for homework.
Tools that Integrate with Google Classroom
As more and more schools become Google Classroom users, more and more tools are providing quick integration with a "Share to Classroom" button. Each of the sites below allows you to link any content, quiz, or other media to your classes with the click of a button. In any of the sites below, just look for the sharing location and you will see an option to share to Classroom.
