Spotlight on Staff Appreciation
Laurie Jendrasiak, the Staff Appreciation Committee chair, wanted to replace a table holding a microwave in the teacher's lounge with a painted hutch to create a coffee station for our teachers and staff. In true If You Give a Mouse a Cookie fashion, Laurie realized that the space, overcrowded with cast-off furniture and years of clutter, needed a full makeover.
The room received a new coat of paint, new furniture and NEW FLOORS!!!
A special thanks to Laurie for spearheading this project!! Her energy and can do attitude are unmatched. We also want to recognize Sarah Fallows, Melissa Timm, and Kathryn Broaddus for all the hard work they put into making this teachers lounge a place of calm and relaxation for our staff. Mr. Derr, our head custodian, also helped put a lot of muscle into the project and we couldn't have done it without his team's support.
We couldn't wait to share the before and after pictures with you!
(Before on the bottom and after up top (just imagine white cabinets - cabinet resurfacing will take place this fall). Not pictured is the rejuvenated mother's room for our nursing moms.)
First up, stuffing the teacher's lounge with snacks! Sign up here to help us keep our teachers energized throughout the year with a special treat.
Next, keep your eyes peeled to the Beacon for additional ways you can support our Staff Appreciation Committee, or email email@example.com if you have ideas or questions about this committee.
Now is the time! We will only be placing one order for spirit wear this year! New shirt designs will be coming next year.
T-shirts and magnets are on sale now until August 23rd! Don't miss out on this great tie-dyed t-shirt.
