A Message from P.O. Scott Paprocki, School Resource Officer

Dear FHS parents,

As some of you may know, some of our upperclassmen are currently playing in the "Paranoia" game, which is essentially a water fight involving teams. It sounds harmless, but one of the "rules" of the game is that you are "safe" and cannot be "killed" (eliminated) only if you are completely naked or are at certain locations including at school/on school grounds, at work, or inside your residence. These rules have led to numerous students running around residential neighborhoods at all hours of the day and night fully naked while trying to "kill" members from other teams. There have also been complaints made to the FRPD involving reckless driving and suspicious activity/persons as a result of this game. The FRPD wants parents to be aware that their children could be subject to arrest/citation based on these activities if the circumstances dictate. Please encourage your children to be safe and make good decisions!

Sincerely, P.O. Scott Paprocki, School Resource Officer

Students involved in Activities and Athletics and End of Year Senior Activities

Please remind your students that the athletic/activity code is in effect 24/7 on or off campus and awards season is upon us.

School discipline for events and actions occurring on and impacting our school day can and will result in school consequences, including loss of privileges (participation in athletics/activities, Senior Class Trip, Participation in Commencement).

Please encourage them to make smart choices so as not to jeopardize eligibility, participation in events, and/or any potential awards.

Sincerely, Jordan Hein, Athletics and Activities Director and Mike Vuolo, Principal

National ProStart Competition

This past weekend, students from Mrs. Heinevetters Restaurant and Tourism Capstone course traveled to Washington DC to compete at ProStart Nationals. Students Jacob Daniels, Madyson Juszczyk, and Sophia Gulzynski qualified for nationals by winning the Restaurant Management division at the ProStart State Competition in March. At nationals, they competed in the Restaurant Management category against 41 teams from all over the United States. Students had to create a restaurant concept, a business plan, menu, costing, floor plan, decor, and marketing tactics. They then gave an hour long "Shark Tank" presentation to a panel of judges from industries such as Nestle, Burger King, Marriott, EcoLab,, the National Restaurant Association, and more. The presentation ended with a series of critical thinking questions Restaurant Managers deal with on a daily basis. Students were judged on their presentation skills, menu, critical thinking responses, overall concept, presentation, and marketing strategies. The team ended up placing in the top half of all the teams at nationals. This was the first time that Mrs. Heinevetter's class competed at the state level, so making it to nationals was an accomplishment in itself! Fantastic job students!
