Waterloo Village is located in Stanhope, New Jersey. At one time, the land was inhabited by the Lenape tribe. In the 19th century, Waterloo Village served as an inland port for the Morris Canal. Today, the village has been restored and serves as an example of a past era for students and tourists.
Pennies for Patients Campaign
The campaign will take place from May 20 - May 31. There was a kickoff assembly on Friday, May 17th. Alissa from Pennies for Patients presented to our students and teachers!
We are having a fundraiser for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society called the Pennies for Patients campaign. It is a science-based philanthropy program designed to give children the tools to make a difference by supporting blood cancer patients and their families throughout NJ. To learn more about the program, please feel free to visit their website at https://www.studentseries.org/
Funds raised help provide patient services, such as co-pay assistance and transportation, and help doctors and scientists develop new lifesaving treatments.
On Friday (5/17), students received a collection box for individual donations. Students can also choose to create an online donation page at home. Letters were sent home explaining the program and how students and families can contribute!
If the school as a whole raises at least $750, the top fundraising classroom receives a Dominos pizza party. The class that comes in second receives an ice cream party.
Ms. Polcaro has been instrumental with helping to organize and plan this campaign. I would like to sincerely thank her for her time and effort. She will be leading the campaign with the assistance of our Senior Student Council.
