News from the Holy Rosary/Juan Diego Community

Message from the Principal: Oct. 5th

Happy Wednesday!

We have officially begun our Annual Fund Campaign. I hope that things have been going well with you and your children this year and that you love our school as much as I do. In order to continue providing a high-quality, innovative, bilingual Catholic education to all families, regardless of financial ability, we need your help. Will you please consider giving to our Annual Fund? The cost to educate a child is over $7,000. Full pay tuition is $5650 and families, on average, pay $2,900 per child. This leaves us with quite a gap that needs to be filled every year. With God's blessings, we are able to make it work, but we also need your help. Please consider making a donation or a pledge. No amount is too small. Every dollar counts and helps us to be able to do what we do each and every day...deliver a wonderful Catholic education in an amazingly rich and diverse setting. If you can donate, please go to www.hrrsjda.org and click on the yellow, "Donate Now" link at the top right corner or just click this link: https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/o5kPfZnwU-9YPZxE8gatew. You can also use the envelopes that you received with the pledge letter and Annual Report. Any amount will help us to achieve our goal. So, please donate. Thank you!!

Have a wonderful week!

Blessings,

Katie Dempsey

CYO Basketball...Coaches, Players??

CYO Basketball Season Slated to Begin Soon!

Holy Rosary Catholic School will begin taking signups after school in October for the upcoming Boys' Basketball season and for the Girls' Basketball.

Practices will begin in November. Leagues games will be played on Saturdays.

Holy Rosary CYO Basketball provides a safe and balanced learning environment for players of all abilities that develops the athletic skills, character, sportsmanship, and teamwork of children in grades 4 through 8 through their participation in competitive basketball.

A Basketball Registration SIGN-UP SHEET will be posted in the main office starting October 5th. Cost is $60 per player which includes your jersey (not shorts). Registration is for grades 4 - 8 for boys and girls. By signing up, there is no guarantee your child will be playing on a team. Teams will need to have at least 8 players and have a coach.

Annual Fund Appeal

We realize that providing a private, Catholic school education is a major financial commitment for your family. As you can see from all of the exciting changes occurring through the capital campaign (new student bathrooms, office space, and a new Pre-K 4 classroom), we want to provide your students with much more than tuition can cover. Your gift towards Holy Rosary School’s Annual Fund Appeal provides a quality educational program for your student(s), new curriculum and materials, and helps fund teacher’s salaries. This year’s goal is $100,000! No donation is too small. You can choose to make a one time donation or you can pledge a monthly amount. Consider giving $25 a month for ten months which provides a total donation of $250. We are hoping for 100% support from our school families and staff at amounts appropriate to their individual abilities.

To donate please see the following secure link on our website:https://secure.lglforms.com/form_engine/s/o5kPfZnwU-9YPZxE8gatew

Please choose the drop down for Annual Appeal. All donations are tax deductible. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Halloween Carnival

Halloween Carnival is right around the corner! This is a fun family event held every year so we can come together as a community and play games, earn prizes, and get some wear out of our children’s costumes! This year it will be held on Sunday, October 23rd, from 1-3pm in the school cafeteria.

The Carnival is also a great way to earn some volunteer hours while you meet and socialize with other parents, and ensure the kids have a great time. There are many opportunities to volunteer:

o Participate in the planning meetings and help out along the way;

o Set-up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday prior to the event;

o Take-down and clean-up on Sunday immediately after the event;

o Assisting in the kitchen to prepare and serve food and drinks;

o Working one of the many booths during the event (available in 30-minute shifts); and,

o Other (I will post new opportunities as they arise).

Please email mariacor2@yahoo.com with your availability and area of interest for earning some volunteer hours leading up to, or during, the event.

The first planning meeting is this Friday, 9/30, at 4pm, in Ms. Dempsey’s office. I expect to finalize the games and assign tasks to volunteers at this meeting, so please come and help us make this a great Halloween Carnival!
