Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
We are so excited for the 2020-2021 school year! Our hope is to get to know you while being able to establish an environment of PRIDE in Creek Valley. Although times are ever-changing please remember that we are all in this together! We are here to support you in this season and help make this year the best possible experience for you and your family!

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES

Attendance will still be taken each class period during Remote Learning. They must be logged in and participate each period in order to be counted present. If a student misses a class or the school day, LISD Attendance procedures must be followed. Parents and students will receive absence notifications via Skylert after 5:00pm each day. Please contact the school to report all absences at 469-713-5184.

Counselors
As your school counselors, it is our goal to help CVMS students with academic and social emotional needs. We work directly with students to provide self and career exploration, college preparation, family communication and most importantly academic success for all students. We are excited about all the continuing programs and opportunities for students this year. The Creek Valley Professional Counseling Department will continue to utilize technology this academic year to provide support and important information to all students.

Grading Guidelines
We will continue to following standard LISD grading guidelines for the 2020-2021 school year. For more information on the grading guidelines go to www.lisd.net.
iPads & technology update
It is imperative that all students have access to technology in order to participate in the Remote and Virtual learning options. In order for students to keep their iPad all students must complete the following:
- Skyward Enrollment Forms must be completed and submitted in Skyward by Friday, September 4th
- Parents must pay the $20 annual iPad insurance fee on Skyward by Friday, September 4th
If the following steps are not complete students will receive a red warning screen explaining what they need to do and their iPad may be confiscated starting on Tuesday, September 8th when in-person learning begins. - All students are expected to have their iPad or personal computer charged and ready for learning each morning.
- District-issued devices are intended for instructional purposes only as directed by their teachers
- As a parent feel free to set clear boundaries and rules for your child's use of his/her iPad. Please contact your child's Assistant Principal for help with establishing parental controls. We are here to help!

Remote Learning
Remote Learning vs Virtual Learning - What's the difference?
Remote Learning Bell Schedule
We will following an A/B Block schedule for the Remote Learning Period. Please see the schedule below. Students will have a break from 11:15 - 12:30 to eat lunch and prepare for afternoon classes.

Supply Packs & School Supply Lists
For those who ordered the School Supply Pack pick up times are as follows:

Textbooks
All subjects have electronic versions/resources available on the Lhub(insert link). Some specialized textbooks are available. If you need to checkout a textbook, please contact Mr. Chirinos, Assistant Principal, at chirinosm@lisd.net
Vaccinations for All 7th Graders
All students entering 7th grade will need both their TDAP and Meningococcal vaccines before starting school. These vaccinations are typically given by your child's physician at the age of 11-12. These vaccinations are needed for all students including Virtual and Virtual Plus students. Please send Nurse Lee a copy via email or fax before the first school day to ensure that your student is up to date. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Nurse Lee!

We will continue to utilize WebEx to host all of our virtual classes during the Remote Learning process. Students must download the WebEx Teams and WebEx Meetings app in order to have access to their virtual classes. Instructions for downloading those apps are here.
