This Is How We Lakeview
May 2023 Edition
May is BUSY!
May Dance tickets will cost $7 and will go on sale, Monday, May 8th. You will need your student's ID number to purchase the ticket (I believe that this is the code). You will only be able to purchase 1 ticket per student ID number. I will send out the link once they go live. The actual dance will be from 7:00-9:00 pm. Concessions will be available for students during the dance so you may want to send them with some cash.
If you received an invitation to the 8th grade awards ceremony (these were mailed out so they should be arriving in the next day or so), there was a mistake on the invitation. The actual date is FRIDAY, May 19th. Sorry for the confusion.
8th grade Chromebook collection is Monday, May 22nd. In order to help them get their new ones in 9th grade, all 8th graders need to turn in their Chromebooks and chargers on this date. They will be issued a new one in August. Failure to return a Chromebook or power cords will result in a fee placed on Infinite Campus.
Shoutout to our amazing PTO for showering our teachers with Appreciation this week! A special thanks to Moo Moo Car Wash, Wendy's, Capriotti's, Cardo's, Tim Horton's and Nothing Bundt Cakes for their donations for our teachers this week!

Principal
Attention Current 8th graders!
Do robot battles bring you joy?
Then Robotics Club is the place for you! If you want to see what Pickerington North's Robotics Club is all about you have the opportunity to check it out.
On Monday May 8th, Mr. Good (head of North's club) will meet you at Lakeview at 2:15 in Mrs. Good's room. We will then walk over to North HS and get acquainted with the Robotics Team and facilities.
Your parents can pick you up at North from Door S (Wendy's side) at 3:15 pm - to allow the high school traffic to clear out.
MEDICATION PICK UP FROM THE CLINIC
This is a reminder for parents/guardians who brought medication in for their student to have available during the school year. According to the School Board policy, the medication will need to be picked up by a parent/guardian on or before the last day of school, Wednesday, May 24th. Any medication that has not been picked up by the last day of school will be discarded.
If you have any questions or concerns please email melanie_thompson@plsd.us
Reminders from Food Services
If your student has a negative balance in their food service account, please pay it off before the end of the school year. You can send cash, a check made payable to "PLSD Food Service" with your student to school, or pay online at mypaymentsplus.com. If you need assistance with My Payments Plus you can reach their parent helpline at 877-237-0946.

Spring Dance is May 20th! Tickets go on sale May 8th!
Have you heard about the Spring Dance? It is a semi-formal dance for Lakeview students only that will be held on May 20th from 7:00-9:00 pm. Spring Dance is a special time for our students and their behavior could influence their ability to be able to attend. Lakeview students have to earn the right to be able to attend the dance. Students who receive In-School Study or Out-of-School Suspension starting after Spring Break which is Monday, March 27th and leading up until the day of the dance will not be able to attend. If your student is following our Lakeview values and not engaging in any activities that could get them suspended, then they will be okay to attend. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Hanagan.
Notes on dress code - dress is semi-formal and follows our student dress code, i.e. appropriate length, shirts buttoned, no sagging pants, no undergarments showing, etc. Examples: nice pants (khakis or dress pants) and a shirt (polo or button down), dresses - think nice dress but not like for Prom (no midriff showing, no cut-outs, not backless, try to follow width of 2 fingers for straps). If you have questions or are out shopping, you can always send an email or Talking Points message which will send a notification to Mrs. Hanagan's phone so she should reply quickly.
This is a junior high dance in the cafeteria, this is not like Prom or Homecoming.

Recent Updates
- We held our final Club Day of the year today, and students had a blast! Ms. Brancifort and Ms. Cordell even offered a new club this time: Students had the opportunity to paint rocks. We are thrilled with how well our Club Day sessions went this year and are excited to bring them back next year!
- We want to give a big shout out to our School Resource Officer, Deputy Tabitha Stephens, for being named Lakeview's Friend of Education at last night's Friends of Education dinner/ceremony. The annual ceremony is co-hosted by the Pickerington Education Association and the Pickerington Education Foundation, and recognizes a "friend" for each building, honors retirees, and awards grant funding for staff/building projects.
