ELL
ELL Spotlight: The KELPA
In Olathe, a little over 18% of our Olathe students are multilingual. Just over half of our multilingual students are considered ELL by the state of Kansas. These students take a language assessment called the KELPA in the spring of each year to show language growth. Once they pass the KELPA, they are no longer considered ELL by Kansas or our district. See this month’s Spotlight to learn more about the KELPA and see how you can best prepare your students for the assessment.
