Upcoming Events
2nd Grade Music Concert - May 2: Tomorrow evening from 6:30pm-7:30pm our 2nd Grade students will be performing. Get ready for a beautiful evening of music.
3rd Grade FT - Fort Snelling - May 5: Our 3rd Graders will be taking a trip to Fort Snelling. Just a reminder to have your child prepared for the weather. Please bring cold lunches in a paper bag with their names on them.
Staff Appreciation Week - May 8 - May 12: We have a great Jaguar/Lion Staff here at Johnsville! If you have a moment, write a note or draw a picture of appreciation to a Jaguar/Lion teacher or paraeducator.
Bus Patrol FT - Mall of America - May 10: Our students that have been crossing guards and bus patrols for the 2022-23 school year will be heading down to Nickelodeon Universe at Mall of America.
Fine Arts Festival - May 18 (pictured): From 4:00pm-7:30pm our students art will be on display through the halls of Johnsville Elementary, our 5th Graders will be performing with their recorders, and our Spring Book Fair is BOGO! We look forward to seeing you for a wonderful night of art.
1st Grade FT - Tamarack Nature Center - May 23: Our 1st Graders will be taking a trip to Tamarack Nature Center. Just a reminder to have your child prepared for the weather. Please bring cold lunches in a paper bag with their names on them.
Track and Field - May 25: Our K-5 students will be taking the skills they've developed to Roosevelt MS for our Track and Field Day. Please have your child at school on time. We will walk as a school to Roosevelt Middle School soon after taking attendance. There will be more information on lunches, events, and parking as we get closer to the day.
Memorial Day - Monday, May 29: No school - district is closed.
K-Sunrise FT - MN Zoo - May 31: Our K-Sunrise will be taking a trip to the Minnesota Zoo. Just a reminder to have your child prepared for the weather. Please bring cold lunches in a paper bag with their names on them.
2nd Grade FT - Gibbs Farm - June 2: Our 2nd Graders will be taking a trip to the U of Ms Gibbs Farm. Just a reminder to have your child prepared for the weather. Please bring cold lunches in a paper bag with their names on them.
5th Grade FT - BlainBrook Bowl - June 6: Our 5th Graders will be taking a walking field trip to BlainBrook Bowl for the afternoon. Just a reminder to have your child prepared for the weather.
Last Day of School - June 7: June 7 is our last student contact day for the 2022-23 school year!

Our Spring Carnival was awesome! Thank you to all that made that happen through donations, volunteering, and attending the event. A shout out to our PTO members for organizing and facilitating this event for our Jaguar/Lion students!
It was so much fun! Even the pie in the face! Thank You!

Track & Field Day – May 25th
ALL HANDS ON DECK! Volunteers will be stationed at one of the track events. They will be responsible for helping the event run smoothly, marking score cards, running timers, and more. Students are in events the whole day. The day is broken into 2 shifts for volunteers, so you can watch your child(ren)'s events for the other half of the day.

Minnesota Spring Weather
The weather is getting warmer! Please help your child leave home prepared for the cool mornings and hot afternoons.
I've noticed a few bikes at our rack. We ask that your child is wearing a helmet, has a lock, and is walking their bike once they are on school grounds. Every year we have a bike or two stolen or thrown in the creek just north of our school. To avoid this, please make sure that your child knows how to lock up their bike.
As a school, we will be practicing procedures for severe weather. We will also have continued lockdown and fire drill practice as well.
If you need assistance in obtaining spring gear for your student, please consider this local resource. Supplies may be limited, so it's best to call ahead to see if supplies are available in your desired sizes:
