Student Spotlight of the Month: Emma Carrillo

Northwest Early College High School

Grade: 12

Major: Criminal Justice

Emma Carrillo is the definition of leadership! In her High School, she has participated in various leadership positions such as being Class President her Junior Year and being an active member in Student Council. Emma also participates as a member in Girls Who Code, Robotics, NHS, and a Church Youth Group. In addition, she has become active at UTEP as she partook in the SGA Excel Program. The ECHS Academic Success Center would love to recognize Emma for all her efforts!

"The ECHS Accelerated Program has helped me adjust to UTEP faster. I have been able to join many programs at UTEP and connect with students. Due to the pandemic, I have not been able to attend UTEP in person. Yet, I have gotten to get such a fun and amazing virtual experience. I have gotten to meet different types of professors. I have been taking classes that I enjoy and I'm passionate about. I am so thankful for the ECHS Academic Success Center. It has helped me as an ECHS student get all the resources I need to succeed."
