BECS Parent Newsletter
July 29, 2022
Dear Hawk Families:
Welcome back from summer break (at least for your students)! We hope you have had some special times and we are excited to see them again to begin another school year!
We are happy to announce Jon Novotny as our Middle School Principal. He comes with 25 years of experience in middle school as well as working as an assistant principal for the past 12 years in the Adams 12 school district. Please feel free to introduce yourself anytime or at the middle school welcome night where he will be in attendance.
On that note, we are still busily working to fill positions. As you may know, there is a national teacher shortage that has made it extremely difficult to fill positions throughout the summer. Bromley is in a better position than many, but we are still looking for 8th grade teachers in social studies and science; as well as one for 7th grade language arts. We feel confident that we will find solutions in the next two weeks; however, if you know of teachers who are looking to get a start in the profession or are looking to make a change, please direct them to our webpage to apply.
Below you will find a variety of information including dates to remember, beginning of school information and athletics timelines.
Have a great weekend!

Fees
Student Fee Payments and Infinite Campus Payments
We have exciting news! 27J Schools and BECS are currently transitioning to a new payment system and are no longer accepting online payments through RevTrak effective 6/30/22.
The new payment system gives parents and students the convenience of fee payments and student school activity in one location through the Infinite Campus Portal.
We hope to be up and running on or around August 5th. Please stay tuned for more information and instructions on how to access, set up your online payment portal, and make a payment for your student(s). Fees for this school year will be available for payment after August 5th.
If you do not have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal, please contact the front office.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition! If you have any questions regarding Student Fees, please contact Ms. French, Finance Manager, at sfrench@bromleyeastcs.org
Importance of Raptoring and bringing ID every time
Government-issued identification will be required every time you enter the building with the intent to go anywhere past the office whether volunteering or meeting with an employee. A scan of your ID will be run each time and no longer held in the system for future entries. Please remember this is for the safety of all students and staff and is not meant to be an inconvenience. Even though we recognize many of our families this scan must be performed every time. We appreciate your assistance.
Lunches
Meals will not be free for students this year. You can apply for free/reduced meals by completing the information annually. LINK
Breakfast will only be served from 7:45 AM - 7:55 AM. Students will remain in the cafeteria until they are dismissed at 8:05 AM. Students should not arrive earlier than 7:45 AM. If a student is in the cafeteria, they are expected to be eating the school-provided meal.
School District 27J Nutrition Services Department can help families determine their eligibility for free or reduced-price meals before school starts. The fastest and most convenient way to apply for Free and Reduced-price meals is online. You may also obtain a Free and Reduced-price meal application at the Nutrition Services Office or from your children's school cafeteria manager. If you believe that your student is eligible to receive their breakfast and lunches free or at a reduced price, please carefully read the instructions and complete an online or paper application annually.
