Where Potential Meets Excellence..
Greetings Cherokee Elementary School (CES) Parents,
As we approach our testing season, please see the April/May testing schedule:
The dates for the 2024 grades 3-5 OSTP assessments are as follows:
Monday, April 15 – Friday, April 19: Math & ELA Assessments (Grades 3rd)
Monday, April 22 – Friday, April 25: Math & ELA Assessments (Grades 4-5)
Monday, April 29 - Friday May 2 – June 3 Science & Writing Performance Test - Grades 4-5)
Please take the time to encourage your child to put forth their best efforts over the coming weeks as they prepare for the upcoming assessments. Please remember that the assessments are a great tool for educators to improve instruction and student learning and that these state assessments also provide valuable information about the great work being done in our school for the amazing students we serve. In preparation for the test, see an additional few ways you can help your child prepare for the tests:
Get a good night’s rest
Eat a healthy breakfast
Start your day peacefully/positively
Dress comfortably
Arrive on time!
Do your best!
Lastly, It is most helpful that we have maximum attendance on testing days, so please consider scheduling outside of school appointments at times that do not conflict with your child’s testing schedule. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Yours In Service,
Latricia Dawkins
