PE Policy for Grades K-5

Students in grades K-5 must participate in a minimum of 30 minutes of physical education activities per day or a total of 150 minutes per week. The PE lesson asks: Did you complete the required physical activity for today? Choose yes or no.

PE grades will be figured once a quarter based on completing the minimum minutes/lessons of PE in the course. The grading scale for PE is an S for satisfactory and a U for unsatisfactory. If a student does not meet the minimum minutes required, they will receive a U for the quarter.

Have fun trying new PE activities this year!

Missing Mondays

Every Monday, teachers will go through the grade book and put the letter M in any missing assignment. This gives the student a zero until the student completes the lesson. Once completed, the grade received will replace the M. I know that being in the flex program, you are given the flexibility to complete lessons throughout the week. However, this will ensure the grade you and your LC sees, is current and accurate. Also, I go through the "unmastered lessons" and the "overdue lessons" list for all of my students weekly and will send an email informing you of these. This is only to let you know what you might have missed and to offer support. Don't forget about my You Book Me times that you can use to get extra support on lessons.

TGA's and Writing Samples

TGAs (Teacher Graded Assignments) and Writing Samples will be added to your Seesaw once grade level teachers share the assignment with me.

Due Dates:

Kindergarten-Writing TGA Sept 18th, Math TGA Sept 19th

1st-Writing TGA Sept 20th

2nd-Writing TGA Sept 24th, Writing Sample TBA, Math TGA Sept 22nd

3rd-Writing TGA Sept 21st, Writing Sample Sept 12th, Math TGA Sept 28th

4th-Writing TGA Sept 14th, Writing Sample TBA, Math TGA Sept 28th

5th-Writing TGA TBA, Writing Sample TBA, Math TGA Sept 17th

What assignments do I turn in to my teacher?

Many times the OLS will instruct students to turn in assignments that do not have to be turned in. The only assignments that must be turned into me are TGA and Writing Sample assignments. These assignments are found on Seesaw.
