How to create your own study space...
Numerous studies have found that the place—or “context’—in which you study affects how you’ll remember that information.
Here are some helpful hints on creating your own study space:
- Remove all distractions.
- Have easy access to everything you need before you start.
- Experiment with lighting.
- Adjust your study space to the ideal temperature.
We understand that studying online takes dedication and discipline, but the advantages when you get your study method, space, and routine set up are totally worth it.
Student Canvas Login Instructions
There are two easy ways for a student to log in to Canvas, through the Canvas student app, and through the Learning Hub. The Learning Hub link is available through the Student Resources page on the lisd.net website, and will automatically log the student into Canvas when they select the link.
To log in via the app:
Open the Canvas – Student app
Select Find my school
Start typing out Lewisville ISD in the search field (inred) and select it when it comes up (in blue)
The student should see the in the login field- showing LISD
The student needs to log in with their LISD username and password (not their email address)

Because children function best with a certain degree of structure, maintaining as much of their preexisting routine will be incredibly helpful.
Though the backdrop is obviously different, doing little things like setting up a schedule similar to their school's (now that curriculum has been assigned) will help keep their minds active and disruptions and transitional anxiety to a minimum. See a sample below, and adjust the timing and activities based upon your children's needs and ages. You can also make it more specific to the assigned curriculum if that helps them.
