Instructional Updates
Planbook.com Lesson Plans
In reviewing lesson plans from last week, I provided feedback. Please review and adjust accordingly.
Lesson plans are an essential part of our work. The purpose of planning ahead is to have an intentional plan that frames lesson outcomes and activities to engage all learners. Lesson plans are due Monday mornings by 8:00 AM . At the very least, these three basic components need to be included on planbook.
Clear learning objectives
Learning activities (differentiated for the diverse learners in the classroom)
Clear assessments to determine if objectives are met

Please review your three goals shared on EdReflect / Tess System. Describe the progress made thus far. Include strengths and opportunities for improvement. This is not a thesis statement. Keep it brief and detailed.
Copy this link, complete it and share it with your evaluator by 01/15/2020.
Your evaluator has the option to meet with you virtually or face to face to discuss progress made on the goals thus far. Please connect with Appiah-McNulty, Banks, or Bagby for further details.
Advisory Classes
Teachers- It is important that you are monitoring student activity on Lexia and Imagine Math. According to the district data, our Middle School had the lowest usage in Lexia last semester. This means that we are not checking student progress on Lexia and holding them accountable. Please ensure you are not in your seat during this time and are actively engaging students. On the plus side, we had very positive data on Imagine Math and our usage was better than most middle schools.
Please see the Faculty Google Classroom for all rosters. The Advisory Committee will be meeting this week to address a tiered approach to intervention classes. We are looking to have specific math and reading teachers to conduct small group instruction for students needing deep interventions. This may mean that other class sizes will go up for advisory times. For students that are highly proficient, we are looking for Enrichment Teachers interested in completing project based activities. Class sizes for this group will be 25-30. Please inform Ms. Kerri Berry if you have an interest in teaching any of the specialized groups. We will have a meeting this Tuesday (3:00pm-4:30pm).
