The Ashland Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Matsen as its new Girls Varsity Softball Coach. Coach Matsen has an extensive and successful coaching track record, most recently with the Vortex Softball Club. Matsen was the owner and coach of the U16/18 teams along with handling the day-to-day operations of the entire club. He is looking forward to bringing his passion, knowledge and enthusiasm to the Clocker diamond.
Athletic Director Stephen Marks had the following to say regarding the hiring, “We are thrilled to bring Coach Matsen onto our coaching staff. After an extensive search that included several highly qualified candidates, Matsen’s experience and blueprint to build a sustainable and successful program stood out to the search committee. We are excited for the future of Clocker Softball!”
