Men vs Women

Big image

Men cut their hair shorter on the sides and then they slicked it back with gel or hair spray. They also had it very long in the back and it was either straight or permed.

Men wore very colorful suits, color-block shirts, sweatsuits, short shorts (went above the knee) and brightly colored jeans.

Women wore their hair either crimped, curled, or in a high ponytail (all hairstyles were very big, poofy and a lot of hairspray was necessary.)

They wore high wasted/acid wash jeans, off the shoulder tops, crop tops, and very tight skirts.

My Fathers experience in the 1980s

My dad graduated High School in 1988 so he went through all of the different styles that were popping up. He mainly just wore and styled his hair how everyone else did.
