Welcome to October 2020

We wanted to thank you for all you have done to make our first month of the 2020-2021 school year such a successful one. The reopening of school at VTHS has proven to be an engaging journey for our students and staff members. We sincerely appreciate all you have done behind the scenes to ensure that your children are arriving to school prepared and ready to learn.

Whether your children are Exclusively Virtual or Hybrid learners, we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with each and every student attending VTHS this year! As we move into October, please be aware that there have been some adjustments to the calendars originally shared with you. The letter from our Superintendent, Ms. Karen D'Avino, delineates the changes and is attached below.

If you have questions and/or concerns about your child's educational experience, please reach out to your child's teacher first. The teacher is the best one to assist you with questions about specific classes, assignments, and assessments. We truly believe that when the home and school work collaboratively, students receive a quality education. Thank you for being our partners in education!

This year, our Parent/Guardian-Teacher Conferences will be held virtually later in October. Information about the scheduled dates and times--in addition to how to make an appointment with your child's teachers--will be made available no later than October 7th. Be sure to check your emails!

Blended Learning Information...

As our students continue to work from home as Exclusively Virtual learners or from both home and school as Hybrid Learners, our Blended Learning Specialists would like to share these two resources, which you might find helpful.

VTHS bids goodbye to one gifted educator and welcomes another!

On Wednesday, Mrs. Norma Brand taught her last lesson and began a well-earned retirement.

On Thursday, we welcomed a new month and a new teacher to VTHS!

Thank you, Mrs. Brand for all of your dedication to our students for so many years! We'll miss you!

We would like to offer a warm welcome to Mr. Orlando Gomez, who will be teaching at VTHS for Mrs. Shenise until she returns from her maternity leave.

Please Consider Nominating a Classroom Teacher or Educational Services Professional...

Breakfast and Lunch at VTHS

Sodexo has been hard at work ensuring that your child is provided with healthy food at both breakfast and lunch. Since the VTHS cafeteria remains closed, students may pick up breakfast at one of the four kiosks around the school and/or pick up their pre-ordered "Grab and Go" lunches at the kiosk located at the front door. Currently, breakfast and lunch are offered free of charge. Pre-Order forms are available under the "Student" section of the main VTSD website or by clicking HERE.
