A Letter From The Teacher

I can't believe I am sending our final newsletter of the year! Our time together has gone by much too quickly! These last few weeks will surely prove to be the same! It is a busy time of year with so much to do! We will be working on a legacy project, memory keepsake book, and celebrate an amazing year with some fun events! I am so thankful for the support you've given this year. I have truly loved getting to know your child and you this year and so very sad that we will be saying goodbye soon! On a happier note, you have raised some great kids and I'm so excited to see what the future holds for them! I am lucky to have been a part of their journey and will always be here to cheer them on and support them! Thank you for your partnership this year and for sharing your kids with me!

If your child will be competing in this event, you will or may have already received information regarding transportation, times, and other details from Mr. Shaw and Mrs. Conry. I hope you will be able to attend this fun and exciting event!

In the past, the 6th graders have all attended this event to cheer on their classmates. However, this year we have decided not to go. The reason for this is that due to the time we are able to leave the school on busses, we arrive at the event only to watch the very end of the HEX competition.

6th Grade Dance Through Our Ages

Where: Heritage Elementary Gym

When: Thursday, May 11 6-8 PM

The 6th grade teachers present, "Dancing Through Our Ages," (previously known as Half Prom.) This special event is just for 6th graders and it raises money for Heritage Elementary. Dinner is provided: pizza, pop and an ice cream treat. We'll make memories in our own selfie-booth and we'll dance the night away to music from the past 12 years!

In the past, we have had 100% attendance! It is such a fun event and your child won't want to miss it.

You may send a check in with your child. Make checks payable to the Heritage PTO.

Cost: $25

May 23 - Last Day of School for 6th Graders- Staff Vs. 6th Grade Kickball Game & Clap Out

Tuesday, May 23rd will also be the last day of school for our 6th graders. On this Tuesday, we will continue the tradition of the 6th Grade Students vs. the Heritage Staff Kickball Game! Join us that morning if you are available! Students will not report to school on Wednesday, May 24th, but Kindergarten-5th grade will still have school. We will also continue the tradition of our “Clap Out.” This is a nostalgic moment that begins at 3:15. At that time, the 6th grade students will walk the halls of our school together, one last time as Heritage students. All other students in grades K-5th will line the pods/halls and clap and cheer for us. You will definitely want to be here to “clap out” your graduating 6th grader! (Bring a camera and some tissues!)
