Staff Shoutout
Dawn, thanks for always forwarding the weather alert email to me and having a type A personality to match mine.
Shout out to the PE coaches and Karen Morris for helping me fix my flat tire on Friday after school!
Amy, thank you for being flexible with 5th grade’s crazy schedule! We love you…
Shout Out to Leigh Anne, Joy, and Jana for all you did to make our invitation to the Pep Rally at Rice MS become a reality! I know you all jumped through a lot of hoops to make the field trip happen in a short amount of time, and we appreciate your efforts SO much! The 5th Grade teachers and kiddos LOVED the Pep Rally! Thanks a ton!
A big thank you to my second grade teammates for all the time they have put into their planning. I feel blessed to work with such dedicated teachers who care so much about their students growth.
You are amazing Kelly!!! Third grade appreciates your determination for success and the amazing energy you bring to our team!! Thank you for conducting parent conferences with a beautiful smile on your face!
A bIg shoutout goes to Alexis Hall, a great teammate and friend. Thanks for always helping, wherever you are needed, with a smile on your face. Your kindness is truly appreciated. Andrews is blessed to have you.
A shout out to Dawn Wood for a positive and professional attitude. Even in a difficult situation, she puts on a happy face and is a real team player!
Staff Spotlight -
I was born and raised in Dallas, growing up in Canyon Creek in Richardson. I am the youngest of 4 children in my family, and I am certainly the baby of the bunch. I love it! I attended PISD from kindergarten through 12th at Aldridge, Wilson, Vines and then graduating from Plano Senior High School. I went to Texas Tech for 1 year and realizing that was a little too far for me, I settled at the University of North Texas.
While at UNT, I waited tables at Chilis. My first week at work, a super handsome bartender caught my eye and we’ve been married for 21 years. We have three beautiful children. William, 17, is in the throes of college applications. He wants a military career which scares the heck out of this momma. Emma, 12, is a 7th grader who is funny, caring and driven. (Not sure where she gets that from) Matthew, 11, is a 5th grader and has the biggest heart of anyone I know. He will take care of me when I’m old, for sure.
This is my 22nd year teaching. I taught 5th grade for 5 years and this is my 17th year as a PACE teacher. Crazy! I was hired at Thomas and taught there for 18 years, then I decided it was time for change and moved to Andrews in 2013. I could never have imagined at the time what a blessing this move would be for me. I love it here and all the people I get to work with every day!
