Critical Inquiry & Justice!
A Critical Inquiry Teacher Action Group + Research Project
Join Us This Fall 4 a TFSJLV CI-TAG!
Teachers for Social Justice Las Vegas and Touro University Nevada (TUN) are partnering up for a powerful teacher participatory action research initiative and you're invited! Join us this fall for a six week, teacher-led, teacher-organized collabo' designed especially for PK-12 educators committed to social justice, interested in deepening their understanding of equity in education through a social justice lens, and who want to develop this understanding through participatory action research (PAR). Participants will have an opportunity to engage in collaborative problem-posing, reflection, and critical dialogue, as well as share strategies, lessons, and ideas. This is meant to be an informal, no-stress, no pre-constructed PD agendas, on-my-own-time, no strings attached, free, “just because I want to grow and learn with my peers” research and learning opportunity. This is also a research project for a student researcher from TUN so participants will be asked to provide consent to be part of that as well. No worries though! You will always have the opportunity to opt out or disengage whenever you desire. Also, since this is PAR, participating teachers will also have the opportunity to have their own questions answers by participating as researchers, along side the student researcher from TUN. PAR is a research approach that requires active participation and action within communities to understand phenomena while also trying to change it. Because PAR emphasizes collective inquiry and experimentation, participants, working in collaboration with each other will employ this method to develop, facilitate, and engage in the Critical Inquiry and Justice CI-TAG.
