Welcome Back!
Thank you for being so patient this week with all the technology ups and downs. Sometimes we are offered an opportunity to remember the importance of having a backup plan! You have been wonderful with all that has been happening.
Just a reminder:
I am at LTHS on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays! You can still sign up for Tech Help by visiting this page.
I am at CTE on Tuesdays and Thursdays! You can still sign up for Tech Help by visiting this page.
Tool of the Week- Remind
1- Parents and students can both sign up for remind messages.
2- You do not have to know anybody's phone number. Privacy is well controlled.
3- There's an app for that! Even students who don't have a phone can still get Remind messages via their app, or even email. All of our kids have email!
4- It is easy to use. Very small learning curve. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this one, especially since it is free.
5- You can create a separate Remind for each of your classes, and then choose whether to send your message to one class or all of them!
5- Parents feel connected and informed when teachers use Remind.
This is the perfect time of year to get started with Remind!
Google Classroom Tips of the Week
- I would advise AGAINST using the guardian feature at this time because of how it functions.
- The place where you can select multiple classes has changed
- You can now add "topics" This allows a student to filter your posted assignments by topic. Think of them like tags.
- You can now post a multiple choice question! Add a question and you can choose either short answer or multiple choice. Love this one!
New to Classroom? Create a practice assignment and let the kids submit something. A quick video, a worksheet you make in Google. It doesn't have to be graded but it will make you (and them) feel better when it comes to submitting something that really matters.

Professional Learning Opportunities
For these courses, you can complete anywhere from 1 to 6 hours of credit, depending on how much you want to learn!
