There will be 11 weigh ins. We’re going to try something a little different next time. I am asking each person to pay $11 up front. This will cover you losing or staying the same each of the 11 weeks. If you happen to gain you will need to pay an additional $.
Also.....
Today is Kick Butts Day, our annual day of youth activism! And it's a special one: We're celebrating 20 years of kicking butts! At more than 1,000 events across the U.S. and beyond, young people are taking a stand and telling Big Tobacco that they're #NotAReplacement
for the people its products kill.
Here are two ways you can join them:
1. Watch and share this video about how the industry is still targeting kids:
2. Make and share your own #NotAReplacement "selfie statement."
Since 1996, dedicated advocates have organized more than 20,000 Kick Butts Day events to educate their schools and communities and advocate for policies to prevent kids from smoking and protect everyone from secondhand smoke.
A lot has changed during the past 20 years, and we’ve made great strides in fighting Big Tobacco. But as our new report shows, the industry is still seeking replacements, and there's still a lot of work to do.
It will be no easy task - but together, we can make the next generation tobacco-free.

Mr. Morris' History Haven
HISTORY IS ALL AROUND US…What is this “March” and where did it come from
March starts on the same day of the week as November, AND March ends on the same day of the week as June EVERY YEAR (check your calendar)
The name March comes from Latin Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar until 153 B.C.E. It was named for Mars, the Roman god of war and the guardian of agriculture. He is an ancestor of the Roman people through his sons Romulus and Remus. Martius was the beginning of the season for both farming and warfare.
NEW YEAR’S- March 1 began the year in Russia until late 15th century. Great Britain and colonies continued to use March until 1752, then adopted the Gregorian calendar (When WE were their colony). Many other cultures and religions still celebrate the beginning of the New Year in March.
March's birthstones are aquamarine and bloodstone. These stones symbolize courage. (Courage, of course, the month is named after a god of war

Celebrate Women's History Month
Principal Jermaine Kamau
March is Women's Heritage Month. We recognize that without the support of women like grandmothers, mothers, aunts sisters, etc. we could not have made it. Their support is invaluable. Many of my teachers growing up were women who served as positive role models for me and my peers. Let's honor them not only through recognition but also by the way we acknowledge and respect their contributions to our communities, nation and the world abroad.
