Blessings at Christmas
The four weeks before Christmas are called Advent which is a time to count down the days that remain before the birth of Jesus. Advent is a joyful time of waiting and hoping. We let ourselves be lit up by Jesus, the true Light who comes from God. Here at Holy Name of Mary we have spent the last few weeks preparing for the birth of Christ with many Advent activities and liturgies.
On behalf of the Staff at Holy Name of Mary I would like to wish our students' and their families a very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
I look forward to seeing our students on January 3rd, 2022.

Sacrament of Confirmation
The Confirmation Celebration for the candidates, parents and their sponsors will be this Saturday, December 18th at 11:00 am at Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church. We ask that candidates arrive by 10:45 am so that they can prepare for the service.
Thank you to the teachers in grades 6, 7 and 8 who have dedicated their time over the last six weeks preparing our students for this commitment.
Congratulations to our candidates for your dedication to the Roman Catholic faith!

PJ and Movie Day - December 17th
If you are planning to pick your child up early on Friday, we ask you do so before 1:00 pm otherwise at dismissal at 3:35 pm. This will limit the classroom interruptions during the movie time so children can fully enjoy this activity with their classmates. Please write a note in your child's agenda if you plan to pick your child up early.
Christmas Gifts and Treats
Many of our families have approached us about Teacher/Staff gifts this year. If you would like to send something for Staff, a Christmas card or item with limited touches, would be acceptable as we continue to follow COVID protocols.
Hour of Code
We are very fortunate to have Mr. Sauve, who took the time last week to visit classrooms and deliver "Hour of Code" activities to the children. The pictures below show the students enjoying the activities Mr. Sauve planned.
Volleyball
Congratulations to both teams. Go Wolves!!

Daily Screening Confirmation Form
The Ministry of Education requires that all students and staff verify their self screening on a daily basis before leaving for school each day.
A form will be sent home with your child this Wednesday which will need to be completed daily for the first two weeks following the Christmas break (January 3-14). This is the same process we used at the beginning of the school year. The signed form (Daily Self-Assessment Verification Form) is to be returned each day with your child. If a student arrives at school without completed confirmation of daily screening (daily signed form) the Ministry of Education requires our school office administrators to contact you for completion.
At the end of the two weeks, the form will be collected by school staff and filed for contact tracing and Ministry audit purposes ensuring a safe return for students/staff following the Christmas break.
