Message from the Director
The old saying "When the going gets tough, the tough get going," most definitely applies to each of you. The reason you persist, not give up and push forward is because you have grit. Enthusiasm is common, but endurance isn't. Let's face it, being gritty is hard work, but it's the quality that most often predicts success for a person. Being gritty means sticking with something until it's finished, even during times of hardship. Being gritty means bouncing back after failure, disappointment or setbacks by learning and growing. During this season of giving thanks, I am most fortunate and grateful to work with the grittiest people I have ever known. Thank you for all that you give! And to give back to you, watch for an email next week explaining your new board approved pay rate, retroactive to August 1. You will see the raise and retro pay in the December 10 payroll. I can now recommend annual staff pay increases based on our own budget's performance, which can be different than what the rest of the district gets. If the budget permits, employees can receive an annual stipend each August in addition to a pay increase. This way, when our operation does better, our employees do better!
With gratitude,
Kathy
Farewell, Kathryn!
Two Hour Delay Schedules
As a reminder to Managers, your two hour delay staff schedule is due today.
FROM THE MIND OF A MANAGER: Ian Fortney
Hello Everyone! It seems like winter is getting closer and closer each day. With the colder weather approaching, I'm doing my best to make sure I am prepared for any problems that may arise. I'm starting to get into the habit of "over ordering" since we are having so many supply chain issues. A few weeks ago I ordered a lot of breakfast items and still have not run out because I ordered more than I needed at the time. As long as you have the space in your coolers, try and maintain a large enough stock of things because we never know what could be out of stock. And if you have too much you can always share :). Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving break!
