What to Do If I Am Going to Be Absent....

Just a recap from our beginning of the year meeting on what to do if you are going to be absent (all paras and teachers):

  • If you know ahead of time-- talk to Tera to make sure she can get a sub and put your leave request in
  • If it is an unplanned absence-- TEXT Tera AND me (in a group text) so that we both are aware, then put your leave time in as soon as you are able to (please make sure to have detailed sub plans available)

  • If you know ahead of time-- talk to Tera AND Julie to make sure your schedule is covered and put your leave request in
  • If it is an unplanned absence-- TEXT Tera, Julie AND me (in a group text) so that we are all three aware, then put your leave in as soon as you are able to

When putting in your leave request, please be as specific as possible. For instance, if you are leaving early one day, please put in the comment section what time you are leaving school. If you are going to be going to a conference, please put the name of the conference and where it is in the comments.

Here are important phone numbers to add to your contacts:

  • Becky: 660-815-7751
  • Tera: 660-631-5558
  • Julie: 660-631-6242

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Accurate Attendance/Lunch Count

Please make sure you are taking attendance everyday and every hour (for my JH friends).

Lunch count needs to be done at the very beginning of the day.

Elementary teachers will check the box for all day. If a student comes in late or leaves early, Tera will make the adjustment.

There have been multiple times where a student is absent, but not marked as such by teachers.

It is also important to take an accurate lunch count each day.

Thank you for your help in this matter!

Field Trips

As discussed at our back to school meeting, we are going to try and take field trips in the fall months or in between sport seasons to be able to schedule buses.

I have shared a document with those of you that will be planning class field trips to see when and where each grade level is going. I have also included several ideas for destinations. I have asked that everyone go somewhere different (i.e. no two classes will go to the zoo, etc.).

The process for scheduling a field trip is to:

  1. Request a date and destination with me (I will need to know leave a return times).
  2. I will schedule the bus for you.
  3. I will add it to the calendar.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

What do I do if I need to reserve a car or bus?

If you need to reserve a vehicle for a meeting, field trip, etc., please contact me and I will then check the availability for you.

Board of Education Meeting

The September BOE Meeting will take place on Tuesday, September 27 at 4:30 pm. Contribution to the September BOE Report is required. Please add a short description about your class(es) by 3:00 on Monday, September 26.
