Slight Change - Student Drop Off
Starting Monday, October 25, students dropped off at Doors 5 or 6 will be able to enter the building at 7:05. They will sit in the front office hallway, with minimal supervision. Our office staff and Door 5 camera). Students will be expected to visit quietly and/or read. They will head to their classroom at 7:15 when the bell rings. The main reason for the change is to respond to the cooler/colder weather.
Reminder too, if you want to spend a few extra minutes with your student before school starts, please use the main parking lot and not the drop off lane in front of Doors 5 and 6. That area is for a quick drop and go situation.
Finally, thank you for your cooperation with student drop off and pick up! Overall, I think you are doing a fantastic job and traffic is moving fairly smoothly.
October - National Bullying Prevention Month
Each week we will have school wide education on Bullying Prevention.
This week for bullying prevention each classroom is going to view the video below, which is from a kids perspective on what bullying is. They will then do a classroom wide activity that is grade specific.

Fall Conferences and CIS Book Fair!!
Conferences
WE are excited to make a quick, but impactful connection with our families. With larger class-sizes, conference times are 15 minutes. Our school dates are October 12, 14 and 19. Once again, CIS families attend our conferences at a high rate, nearly 90-95% most years! If you haven't heard from your child's teacher and/or would like more information, please reach out to us at 763-691-6600.
On behalf of CIS, teachers will be providing families with 3 items:
- Levy information (in person only)
- School-wide Title information
- Your child's 2020-21 MCA data (grades 4 and 5 only)
Book Fair---OPEN and ONLINE ONLY ---Oct. 11-24
A reminder/info about our online/virtual only Scholastic Book Fair that begins Monday, Oct. 11th and ends on Sunday, Oct. 24th. This book fair includes Isanti Intermediate, School For All Seasons, and Cambridge Intermediate School. Tina Voss is also facilitating a primary level online/virtual book fair for both Isanti Primary, Cambridge Primary, & SFAS Primary Schools at the same time using a different link.
The link to our Intermediate book fair is: Scholastic Book Fair Page-IIS/SFAS/CIS Intermediate. This link is also in all the Media Google Classrooms for all intermediate schools, as well as in Clever in my teacher page, Mrs. Boege.
This week in Media class, students will have the opportunity to visit the online book store, navigate in the virtual store, and we will watch some book fair videos and book trailers. Mrs. Boege is stressing to the students that purchasing books is optional and to check with a parent/guardian. Her emphasis/focus is getting the students excited about some new books and reading.

Parents are Busy!!
The school referendum election this November will provide funding for your child’s education for the next ten years. National research tells us that busy parents often forget to vote, even though your child will be the most impacted by the decision. Be sure to make a plan to vote early. It’s super easy. Walk into the District Office or the High School main office any weekday and ask to vote. [Children and strollers are welcome—and there is no line.]
