Principal's Message
With the end of February approaching, the Black History Month celebrations will cease. However, we should continue to celebrate not only the accomplishments and contributions of BIPOC (black, Indigenous and people of color) individuals but of all people in our society. Every person brings unique gifts to our world. On March 10, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m., the second annual Community-Wide Conversation Around Race will be a virtual event that provides the opportunity for our greater community to come together to participate in a conversation around race, improve our individual racial literacy, and build a better understanding of the intersection of race, instruction, education, and community. One of our wonderful ISB students will participate on a student panel. I hope to have registration information available for you by next week.
There is one update you should put on your calendars relative to the ISB graduation ceremony. ISB will be graduating on June 14, 2021 as stated in the previous newsletter, but the time has shifted to 6 p.m. If we are able to offer an in-person event, it will be at the Southridge High School stadium. If we have a drive-through event, it will be in the ISB parking lot.
We may continue to experience a few more bumps as we advance toward the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the strength and resilience not only of our community but of our amazing children will give us the ability to navigate the challenges and we will come out stronger. Thank you for being wonderful parents and families as well as community members.
Sincerely,
Janice Adams

Wednesday is Staff Development Day - No School for Students
Missed Curbside Pick Up?
You can still come to ISB to pick up your student's supplies and materials for second semester Monday through Friday from 8 am to 2 pm when school is in session. Almost ALL students have items to pick up.
When you arrive at ISB in your car, please use the bus drop off lane to pull up to the front of the school. Call the office at 503-356-3690 to let us know you are here. Hold a sign up in the front window with the first and last name of the ISB student(s) clearly visible - large print in bold letters really helps! Open your car's trunk and wait for staff to place your textbooks and materials in it. Staff will be wearing masks and gloves when they do this.
Walking or biking to school to pick up supplies and materials is discouraged at this time due to safety reasons.
