Washington Elementary School
August 2022
Message from Mrs. Zeman
Hello Washington Families!
We cannot wait to see you in the next week and a half at a Before School Interview! Please remember to sign up as these days are so important. This year, we are going to continue to hold high expectations for our students so that all students can grow and learn as much as possible. Each newsletter, I will be highlighting some of our expectations that we will be teaching to students. We are working on being mindful, responsible and ready to do our best throughout our day. Below are the main things (shortened version) that we will focus on in our classrooms.
In Our Classrooms:
- Participate
- Accept Adult Directions
- Work Hard
- Positive Interactions
- Clean Up Area
- Use Materials Appropriately
- Be A Classroom Leader
This year we are really focusing on having positive interactions with others. We will be supporting students with this at school, and we would love your partnership in talking about it at home as well. Throughout the year, we will reach out so we can partner together and help students be successful! We are looking forward to an amazing year and we cannot wait to see you!
Thank you for your partnership,
Mrs. Zeman

Drop Off/Pick Up
The pickup lane on 14th St is a moving lane so please DO NOT leave your vehicle at any time. Staff will work with students to watch for their vehicle and have them ready to go.
In order to provide the safest drop off and pick up, students will only be allowed to cross the street where safety patrol is located, unless a parent or guardian is escorting across the street.
Outdoor supervision begins at 7:40am, and students are let into the building at 7:45am. The final bell rings at 7:55am. All students will be dismissed by 2:25pm.
Safety Patrol
If you're 5th grade student is interested in participating in Safety Patrol, and did not sign up in the spring, please email Zach Waletich at zwaletich@isd761.org. We are looking for additional patrolers.
