Eversole Run Principal's Weekly
Eversole Run Middle School | August 12, 2022
(Our apologies for the late newsletter! There was a Spectrum outage the majority of the day today.)
Dear Eversole Run Families,
We had a great turnout this week for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade walkthroughs and orientations. Our staff retreat at Highbanks Metro Park was a huge success and we were able to review important information for the upcoming year as we continue to prepare for students to arrive next week.
As we get closer to the first day of school, I would like to remind parents that if your child intends to use a locker, they must have their own combination or key lock by the first day of school. Please be sure to provide the combination or extra key with us. This will ensure that all items are safe throughout the school day. Also, students will not be allowed to switch lockers. If your child is having issues with his/her locker, please instruct them to speak with someone in the Main Office or Guidance.
On the first day of school, we will have an all school pep rally in our gymnasium. Students will have the opportunity to take part in games along with recognition of our fall sports teams.
During the first week of school Mrs. Moses and myself will meet with each grade level. The purpose of the meetings is to communicate specific procedures and expectations that will be set for each grade level. During the meetings, we will encourage students to memorize their lunch numbers. As you know, students will have to input their numbers when purchasing breakfast or lunch. Memorization of their numbers will allow students to get through the lines faster.
I hope everyone enjoys their last weekend before school starts and we look forward to seeing your child on Wednesday.

Changes to Breakfast and Lunch Procedures
Dublin City Schools will be partnering with Sodexo Food Services for all school lunches for the 2022-2023 school year. Following is important information to help you and your child navigate our lunchroom procedures:
- Meals are no longer free to the population (only approved free & reduced applications will qualify). See below for details, and pricing:
- Hot and cold meal options (breakfast & lunch) will be available to all students
- Middle school students will be required to enter their student ID's on a touchpad to check out their purchase. We will model this for students the first several days of school at Eversole.
- In addition to meals, additional "a la carte" snacks will be for sale. Student a la carte purchases will not be monitored; please speak to your child about your rules around the quantity and frequency of purchasing these items as it aligns to your family's expectations.
Free and Reduced Lunches 2022-23
The USDA did not pass the waiver to make school lunches free this year. Parents who think they qualify for free or reduced lunch must fill out an application for approval. The application is on the district website, or can be found at this link: Pay Schools Central. Paper copies of this application are also available in our Main Office and in Guidance.
