Safety Drills
For October our fire drill will be on October 18th and our lockdown drill will be on October 29. Please know that these are only drills. Please help us in reassuring your student that these are only drills and there is no danger, but we must always follow directions for the safety of everyone.
What Are We Learning?
Math: Shapes- 2D and 3D
Social Studies: Pledge of Allegiance, Star Spangled Banner, Land/Water features, and Community Helpers, address and phone number
Science: Force and Motion
Helpful Hints for Home
- count with your students (cars you pass on the road, green beans on their plate, etc)
- ask questions when reading (who, what, when, where,why)
- practice writing (numbers, letters, etc)
- practice word families (cat, hat, bat, mat, sat, etc)
- practice your sight words (take small chunks instead of all 100 at once)

Fall Festival
There will be tons of games, prizes, and more. If you are interested in being a vendor for the Fall Festival, see the attached form.
Every homeroom will be in charge of a booth. Use the attached sing-up genius to help your child's homeroom!
Candy Donations
Candy Donations Needed for Fall Festival!!
If you are willing and able, please send in individually wrapped pieces of candy for the PES Fall Festival that will be held on Friday, October 25th. There will be a homeroom candy contest! The top THREE classes that send in the most bags of candy will receive the following:
1st Place: 1 FREE Wristband for the Fall Festival
2nd Place: 10 FREE Tickets for the Fall Festival
3rd Place: 5 FREE Tickets for the Fall Festival
Candy donations are due on Tuesday, October 22nd! Thank you for your support in making our Fall Festival a success! ~PTO
