April 13, 2016
We want to personally remind you about the important PISD Bond Informational session at Shepton HS on Thursday, April 28 from 6:30-8:00 pm. Our superintendent Dr. Binggeli will present information and answer questions about the upcoming Bond Election (http://www.pisd.edu/news/bond.programs/2016bond/index.shtml).
To celebrate National Library Week, author Michelle Staubach Grimes (daughter of Roger Staubach, former Dallas Cowboy quarterback) read her new book, Pidge, to First and Second grade students. Third, Fourth and Fifth grade students were treated to an awesome presentation and writer's workshop by Polly Holyoke, author of The Neptune Project and The Neptune Challenge. Both authors did a fabulous job! Students will also have an opportunity to design a bookmark, write a acrostic poem using the word "Library," and have 15 minutes of D.E.A.R. time--Drop Everything and Read time! Thanks to Mrs. Walker for coordinating and our wonderful PTA for funding!
