Patriot's Pointe
January 8 - January 12 Vol. 2 Edition 20
Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
We are excited about the start to our new semester! Our students have returned with a positive attitude and ready to learn. Report Cards will be available in Infinite Campus on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. If your student fell short of academic expectations during the Fall semester and earned between a 60-69 in a course, they have the opportunity to engage in our Second Chance Program. We are unable to offer this opportunity for every course but our core subjects in English, Math, Science, and Social Studies will be offered. The deadline to register and pay for the second chance opportunity is Friday, January 12, 2024 at 11:59pm. Please see the flyer further down in this newsletter for all of the information and the link to register. On January 31, 2024 Sandy Creek High School will host our annual AP/IB/Electives Night where you will have an opportunity to learn about our rigorous course offerings as well as learn about our academic progress regarding our new College and Career Readiness Indicator (CCRPI) score.
We have a busy week at The Creek! Congratulations to Senior Micah Smith for joining the 1,000 pt. club in boys basketball. Our boys basketball teams beat Westlake on Saturday and Varsity won with a final score of 93-63. You can see our girls and boys teams at home this week against Douglass High School on Tuesday. Many of our Spring sports are gearing up for competition this season. Please check the flyers below for specific tryout information for Golf, Baseball, and Soccer.
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

Academic Spotlight
Cristina Marie Anunciacion, a proud Patriot student at SCHS, delivered on December 19, 2023 not one, not two, but 150 Hand-Made Christmas cards to Fayette County Senior Services. Cristina has been making hand made Christmas cards for Seniors during Christmas break.
This is her 4th year doing this effort, she has delivered to Senior residential facility in North side, she delivered to a Senior home facility in Fayette County, and for two years in a row she has delivered home made Christmas cards for Fayette Senior facility for the Meals on Wheels project. This project or MOW provides home delivery food services to our Seniors in Fayette County who are home bound.
Ms. Natalie, Wheels-On-Wheels Project Manager of Fayette County Senior Services, was very pleased with Cristina's effort thinking about our Seniors on Holidays. Cristina was very proud to tell Ms. Natalie that she is a Patriot, a student at Sandy Creek High School. Attached are photographs of Cristina along with the Team members of Meals-On-Wheels at Fayette County Senior Services. Thank you and have a wonderful 2024!
Ms. Oliver SCHS Principal, sat down with one of our students at lunch to play a friendly (but intense) game of chess! We love engaging with our students!

PTSO
Did you know that your gently worn sneakers could help The Sandy Creek High School PTSO support even more students, faculty and staff?
Well, they can and here’s how…Our team is participating in a fundraiser where there is nothing to buy or sell; All we need is your support and your gently worn, used, or new sneakers!
Here’s how you can help:
As the seasons change and you clean out/organize your closets, gather as many pairs of sneakers that you no longer want; maybe you’ve out-grown them, they’re out of style, or out of season. If you and your household have 20 pairs, great! If not, don’t worry. You can ask your neighbors, friends, co-workers, and anyone in your social networks to help out. Every pair counts! The Sandy Creek High School PTSO will be collecting sneakers from December through February. Collections bins will be located in the front office.
The sneakers that we all collect will help raise money to support our program AND will help our environment by keeping sneakers out of landfills.
Can we count on you?

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
