A Look Back
We're Kicking Off the Week in Style!
Mustache Monday
Students at MTES kicked off the week paying tribute to Dr. Seuss’s book, The Lorax. The Lorax stood up to the Once-ler, whose greed destroyed the Truffula trees and polluted the forest. The message for today was, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It's not." Students were challenged to be caring and try to make a difference in someone’s life.
A trivia competition between classes began, and Mrs. Winters's class was the winning homeroom receiving a gift card to Barnes & Nobles. Today’s trivia question was... How many different words were used in the book “Green Eggs and Ham?”

Top Hat Tuesday
The Dr. Seuss trivia battle between the classes raged on. Do you know the answer to the question of the day? Which of Dr. Seuss’s stories dealt with the nuclear arms race? (the nuclear arms race was a competition between the US and Soviet Union to see who could build the biggest and baddest nuclear weapons during the Cold War).
Who Are You? Wednesday
Today we are focused on Dr. Seuss’s book, I Can Read with My Eyes Shut which says “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” One of this book’s messages is that knowledge is power, and books can transport you to amazing places, and walking the halls today are some of our favorite characters that have inspired us.
Today’s trivia question was… Which Dr. Seuss book bears the warning, “Take it slowly...this book is dangerous?”
