Agricultural Leadership Parent Meeting for 2017-18
What: Agricultural Leadership Program parent meeting
When: Thursday, February 2 Time: 5:30 p.m.
Where: Tarver-Rendon Elementary School cafeteria (6065 Retta Mansfield Road, Burleson, TX 76028)
This meeting is for all MISD parents of elementary students (not currently enrolled at Tarver-Rendon Elementary) who are interested in the Agricultural Leadership Program next year.
Tarver-Rendon Elementary School has been chosen to provide one of MISD’s first “school of choice” for the 2017-18 school year. The School of Agricultural Leadership will teach core content and leadership skill through agricultural-based experiences.
The “Planting the Seed” program will include field experiences and opportunities to work with the Ben Barber Innovation Academy agriculture students and staff. Weekly classes will be provided to grades 2-4 while grades PK-1 students will benefit from occasional activities. All students will have the opportunity to access the Ron Whitson Science Agricultural Center and the Tarver-Rendon Discovery Park.
All students zoned for Tarver-Rendon will automatically be enrolled in this program and no further action will need to be made by parents/guardians. There will be an opportunity for other MISD students to transfer into the program.
We are very excited about this program! Students will greatly benefit and participate in highly engaging activities that will enhance their math, science and leadership skills.
Questions about the meeting? Contact Principal Jamie Norwood-Miller at jamienorwood@misdmail.org.
