· Our school day is from 7:30-2:30.

· Please remember to send in a written and signed note for all transportation changes.

· All visitors must come through the main office and bring a photo ID to sign in.

First Meeting! - PTC (Parent Teacher Cooperative):

If you are interested in helping and supporting our PTC, please use the link below to sign up to be part of their GroupMe communication group. Our first PTC meeting is Tuesday, September 13th at 5:15 pm in the cafeteria!

School Governance Council New Parent Representative:

Thank you to everyone for participating in our nomination and survey process for our new School Governance Council parent representative. We are excited to announce Alexis Pritchard as a new member of the Cartersville Elementary School Governance Council.

Flu Shot forms

Flu shot letters and forms have been sent home with students. If you would like the flu shot administered to your child at school, please return the completed and signed form no later than September 19th. Our flu shot date is scheduled for Wednesday, October 5th. Please note this is the day following our Fall Break.

Sport Stacking Clubs

Coach Hynes and CES are excited to offer our sport stacking club again this school year. This club is open to any students grades 3-5 that are interested in being part of the fun!

This is an afterschool activity that will meet from 2:30 to 3:45 in Coach Hynes’ gym.

Due to the large number of participants, there will be an alternating schedule between the 3rd grade group and the 5th grade group on Mondays, with the 4th grade meeting every other Wednesday.

The first semester schedule and additional information can be found on the sports stacking website.

Power School/Progress Reports/MAP family reports

Information was recently sent home with directions on how to access your child's Power School account. This portal is where you can monitor your child's grades and attendance. Our first progress reports will go home September 27th, however, you can check your child's grades at any time using Power School. We will also send home MAP family reports on the 27th with additional information about your child's current academic performance and growth.

CES Fall Family Night - sponsored by Title 1

Please save the date for October 13th for our Fall Family Night! This evening will provide you with information about your child's classes as well some insight into STEAM, Capturing Kid's Hearts, and understanding MAP family reports! More information will be sent home later this month with details! This event will also kick off our fall conferences.

Battle of Bartow t-shirts

The high school PTC asked us to share the link for their Battle of Bartow shirts in preparation for the Cartersville/Cass game thinking some of our students may be interested, as well. Information is below:

Free/Reduced Price Meal Applications:

Submit your application online for free/reduced price meals at Your child’s status will be available on PowerSchool within 7-10 days of submitting your application. Please direct any free/reduced questions to Christina Nichols at or 770-387-4717.
