The Week Ahead in 3-215

February 22, 2016

Our third graders had a fantastic day celebrating Valentine's Day and the 100th Day of School before our winter break. Students wrote valentines for the blobfish, who was recently voted the World's Ugliest Animal (we still love him anyway). We also finished our beloved read aloud, The One and Only Ivan. Students enjoyed exchanging valentines and reading their valentine boosters! Hope everyone enjoyed a fun and restful winter recess.

Classroom Slice of Life Story Challenge....March 1st!

Our class has been blogging all year long and the students are growing as writers! In March, we will take part in an exciting classroom challenge, sponsored by the Two Writing Teachers blog (I am one of the co-authors of this blog). The challenge is to blog each day in March. I will also be participating in this challenge on my own blog, too. Students will get some time in class each day to blog but can also blog at home and on the weekends. They will have the opportunity to earn badges throughout the challenge and rewards at the end of the month! Parents can login to read blogs and comment. I will send home an instruction letter with the parent code later this week if you need that information. I am so excited for our class to participate!

Favorite Book Project

Students did an amazing job sharing their favorite books! Videos, posters, blog posts and Google slide presentations were some of the ways our students shared their favorite books. Teacher comments will be coming home soon regarding your child's project!
