FREEDOM Motorcycle Rally!
It's right around the corner. Make sure you're ready!
DIY Small Motorcycle Flag Mounts
These will attached to the license plate on the back of most motorcycles. It's cheap and very easily. A quick trip to Lowe's or Home Depot will run you about $10 for the materials. Here's what you'll need:
1 Reflector with Stake (the kind that go at the end of your driveway)
2 Coarse Thread Solid Brass Cap Nuts 5/16" Diameter
4 Rubber Lines Clamps 1/4" Diameter
48" Driveway Marker
This one is from The Hillman Group and is carried at The Home Depot. Price is $2.18.
Brass-Plated Cap Nuts
These are also Everbilt and are carried at The Home Depot. Price is $0.48 each. I like brass, but you can really use any color.
5/8" Rubber Insulated Metal Clamps
These are from The Home Depot. A pack of 2 is $1.68.
Remove the stake (stick) from the reflector. Measure the height of your flag (top left corner to bottom left corner). Also measure the height of the license plate. Add these measurements together plus an extra inch and a half. Cut the stake to this length. This will be your 'flag pole". You should have enough stake left cut at least two flag poles.
You will use the clamps to attach the 'poles' to the license plate. You'll unscrew the existing license plate bolts. Align the clamp holes with the license plate holes. Slide the 'poles' down through the clamp 'loops' and then tighten down the license plate bolts to secure the flagpoles. Slide your flag down on your mounted poles. Glue the cap nuts on top to make sure your flag doesn't slide up and off. Voila!
Of course, if DIY is not you're thing, you can spend some money and buy a flag mount. Here is a link to a vendor who sells all kinds of motorcycle flag mounts and poles. http://www.motorcyclepride.com/motorcycle-flags.
