From Mr. Backmeyer's Desk

Good morning! Wow it has been a busy week and we have some busy ones ahead of us! We have presentations, performances, field trips, etc. ahead as we near the end of this school year!

I spent 2 days this past week at the Indiana School Safety Specialist Training. I represent the 11 elementary schools in our district and wanted to share how fortunate our school corporation is to have 2 great School Resource Officers (You may hear them referred to as "SROs"). I travelled with our 2 officers, Officer Julie Quesenberry and Officer Eric Stevens, to the training. These 2 Columbus Police Department officers spend most of their time at our high schools, but are available to assist all of us! Their relationships with students and staff are so valuable and we are very thankful to have them!

As we come to the end of the year I find myself pausing (for a very SHORT time!) and reflecting on what a great year we have had! Thank you for your partnership in the education of our students!

Have a great weekend!
