Principal's Corner

Dear Slate Hill Families,

For the 2022-23 school year our theme for the year is "Adventure Awaits at The Slate!" Our hope is that your child will take risks, be brave, have fun, have new experiences, discover, explore, learn from their mistakes, push themselves, persevere, make friends and work together with the support, love and care of our Slate Hill RockSTAR staff. We are excited to partner with you on this adventure so that your child feels that they can take on new challenges this year.

Just a couple reminders about dismissal time. For students that live in front of Slate Hill, they are to exit door 13 and meet their parents on the other side of the crosswalk at the front of the building. For students that live in the back of Slate Hill, they are to exit door 8 and meet their parents at the large tree to walk home.

For car pick up and drop off, please pull all the way down to far end of the sidewalk to load and unload students. Students are asked to exit toward the sidewalk not the parking lot.

We ask that parents please follow the directions of the staff members on duty so that we can keep your child safe during arrival and dismissal.

I also wanted to be sure that all families were familiar with our building wide expectations. These posters are displayed in all classrooms, hallways, cafeteria and gym so that students are reminded of what is expected of a Slate Hill Star!

We are excited for an AWESOME adventurous year!

Julie Gulley, Slate Hill Principal
