NOW IS THE TIME TO COMPLETE THE FAFSA-if you have not done so already!
Students that plan on attending college next year will need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA window opened on October 1, 2021, and will close on April 15, 2022.
Several colleges will begin sending out Financial Aid packages WELL before April 15th. Please try to complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. It requires student and parent tax information that was submitted this past April 2021 (2020 Federal Tax Return Information).
All students and parents must also apply for an FSA ID. This serves as your electronic signature on the FAFSA application.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND DEADLINES
USI Foundation Scholarships- Funded through the generosity of private donors. There are approximately 100 USI Foundation scholarships reserved for new, incoming freshmen. The application matches students with any scholarships for which they meet the criteria set forth by the donor. Applications are available at https://www.usi.edu/giving/usi-resources/applying-for-foundation-scholarships/ Deadline is January 30, 2022
Vincennes University Scholarship Application- Any student that plans on attending Vincennes should print out a scholarship application on www.vinu.edu/scholarships Scroll down and click on the 2022-23 Scholarship Application. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT SCHOLARSHIPS IS JANUARY 15, 2022.
Knights of Pythias Scholarship- This is a $1,000 Scholarship available to any senior with a GPA of 3.0 or above. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE TYPED-no handwritten applications will be accepted. Two essays are also required. Apply online at www.knightsofpythiasofnewcastle.com Click on “event forms” on top of page..then on public form/rules. Paper applications are available in Guidance. See Guidance with questions. ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE JANUARY 25th, 2022.
Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship– This scholarship is open to seniors that plan on majoring in education. They must have a 3.0 GPA and be in the top 20% of a class or score in the top 20th percentile on SAT or ACT. Nomination Forms and Application Forms are available online at http://in.gov/che/4680.htm. If a student receives this scholarship they must obtain a teaching license and teach in Indiana for 5 years or REPAY the amount of the scholarship back! This Scholarship will open October 1st and DEADLINE IS JANUARY 31st, 2022
Beacon Scholarship Program-This scholarship is open to high school seniors that are current members Beacon Credit Union. The application requires students to complete the form, essay and include a transcript. Applications can be found online at beaconcu.org Click on the Community Tab and then the scholarship link. DEADLINE is POSTMARKED by January 31, 2022.
Loretta M. Burd Scholarship Program(Centra Credit Union)-Applicants must be members of Centra Credit Union with accounts in good standing. The scholarship is based on academic acheivement, school and community involvement, and an essay. Applications are available online at www.centra.org/scholarships Guidance MUST complete a form. You MUST let guidance know if you have completed this scholarship!! DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 28, 2022.
Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) – 4 scholarships available online at www.ista-in.org Click on the Our Profession tab then click on Awards and Scholarships.
· The Louis B. Russell Memorial Scholarship for ethnic minority students pursuing education in industrial technology, vocational education, or technical preparation
· Justine M. Harrell Scholarship for seniors pursuing a degree in education.
· Damon P. Moore Scholarship for ethnic minority student planning to pursue a teaching license.
· ISTA Career Scholarship for a dependent of an ISTA member to pursue any major.
· ISTA Educator Scholarship for a dependent of an ISTA member planning to pursue a teaching license.
ALL SCHOLARSHIPS ARE WORTH $1,000 AND DUE MARCH 1, 2022
Bedford Board of Realtors Scholarship- Students must be the child, stepchild, grandchild, or legal ward of a primary or secondary member of the Bedford Board of Realtors. Deadline is March 15, 2022. Applications are available on google classroom. Applications must be mailed to:
Bedford Board of Realtors 1835 Steven Avenue Bedford, IN 47421Gary Wirt Jackson Lodge #146 Scholarship- This scholarship is available to any senior in Jackson County. Very detailed instructions are included with the application. Students MUST pick up an application packet in the guidance office. DEADLINE is March 31, 2021. This application must be sent via certified mail.
Blue and Company LLC Scholarship- This scholarship is open to any senior with a 3.0 or higher GPA and planning to pursue and associate or bachelors degree in accounting. The scholarship form is available on google classroom. It must be submitted to Blue and Company via email. DEADLINE IS January 15, 2022
IVY TECH ASAP Program
Do you want to earn your Associates Degree in 11 months instead of 2 years?
This is selective program to help students move through the first two years of college at a quicker pace in order to transfer to a 4 year college.
Specific GPA requirements must be met.
