1st Quarter Citizenship Award Winners!

Plastic-less Lunch Day!
Students and staff enjoyed practicing our first "plastic-less lunch day". Our goal was to decrease our use of plastic and other non-biodegradable items during lunch. We used compostable trays, and served food that did not require any utensils at all! After we ate, volunteers helped us to sort our items into compost, biodegradable, and plastic/non-biodegradable containers. We are amazed at how much less landfill trash we had at the end of the day!
We will host more Plastic-less Lunch Days in the future, but remember that we can all do our part every day to help reduce the use of plastics. If your child packs their lunch, they can use reusable containers and utensils instead of using plastics or foils. Did you know they even sell compostable utensils? There are so many ways we can take care of our planet....and we don't have to wait for Earth Day to do it!
Thank you to our PTO for supporting this wonderful event!!
Blue Ash Bash
Looking to get to know some fun BAE parents? We have some fun opportunities for you to meet new people this year all the while enjoying fun activities/parties/classes! We have a few BAE parents hosting some fun events coming up to help support the PTO. The first of which are some baking classes hosted by Melissa Vincent. There will be a kids' baking class and an Adult baking class coming up the first weekend of December. The kids' baking class only has 1 spot remaining, so grab your spot quickly! One other opportunity is a Bourbon Tasting Bash in February. Descriptions and details are available on the following link:

Active Aves is Back!
Active Aves is a recess running program that allows kids to set and meet goals while having fun and being active outside with their friends. Kids run (or walk) laps around the playground, each of which is marked on a card. When kids complete a card (each card equals about 2 miles walked or run) they earn a token to mark their accomplishment. Kids who complete six or more cards will be entered in a drawing for a prize at the end of the year. You can help by volunteering to punch cards and cheer the kids on. Due to high participation levels, we especially need help with first and second grade recesses. Indoor recess cancels.
