Spring Break Travel Advisory

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District recommends that both staff and families follow current Oregon Health Authority travel recommendations. As of February 24, OHA recommends people stay home or in their region and avoid non-essential travel to other states or countries. People arriving in Oregon from other states or countries for non-essential travel, including returning Oregon residents, should (but are not required to) practice self-quarantine for 14 days after arrival and limit interactions to people in their household. These recommendations do not apply to individuals who cross state or country borders for essential travel. Current OHA Travel Guidance can be found on the Oregon Health Authority website.

Primary Level

Dear Primary Families,

I cannot believe we are already heading into Spring Break. Our academic year is far from over and at the same time we have accomplished so much! I say we because it has truly been a collective effort to educate, inspire, and grow our amazing community of learners. Thank you for the hard work you have put in and for the partnerships we have formed.

I hope you can take time over the break to connect as a family, take a break from Zoom, and read amazing books. I hope you stay safe and well, and we look forward to connecting with you when we return on March 29th!

Our Online students recently competed in the regional science fair. A brief summary of their amazing work can be seen on the following slides. What an amazing group of students!

Assignments and assessments, such as quizzes, tests, short answer questions and essays are a critical part of any academic program. They offer important information about your student’s progress toward mastery. But this information is helpful only if it is accurate. And it can be accurate only if the assessment represents your student’s work and only your student’s work. We would love your help in reminding your student that academic honesty and good moral judgement are critical personal traits that will enable them to take their learning to the next level. We will be starting a program-wide initiative to share this information with students to help ensure that our students are learning the material they need to be successful next year and beyond. We would love to partner with you to reinforce this message to students.

Our Online Program students will be forecasting for classes for next year with their home schools. There will be more information regarding online learning options for next year coming soon! Regardless of if your student chooses to take online or in person classes next year, they will need to forecast with their homeschool. Students will be emailed this information and it will also be presented in multiple formats before forecasting occurs. Here is some forecasting information for WVHS and WLHS.
