NEWS FROM THE HEADS

Remarkably our sporting life has continued with excellent performances by the U14 hockey teams against Marist with the A’s winning 8-0, and the B’s losing 4-0. In netball we were in action against Ranelagh with the 1st’s narrowly losing 23-25, and 2nd’s winning 29-24.

This week was all about the Dance Show! Well, that is not strictly true; we still taught the girls (lots in fact!) and competed in the London West ISA Regional Tournament. But I cannot let the success of the bi-annual Dance Show pass by without it’s own feature in our weekly bulletin… I cannot express how proud I am of the girls and the PE department for putting on such a talent-filled, creative and moving performance. On Wednesday 22 February the Nursery Department are planning a cake sale to raise funds for Reuben so if you would like to donate a cake please bring in on Tuesday so that we can sell them to our parents at drop off and pick up times the following day. Emergency Closure Guidance

As the weather gets colder, here are the details in case we need to close the School due to adverse weather conditions.

PTA AGM - 23 FEBRUARY 2017

You are warmly invited to attend the AGM of the Claires Court PTA on 23 February. This is an opportunity for all to hear what activities the PTA creates throughout the year as well as the contributions it makes to enhance the school experience of the boys and girls. After the brief formalities, refreshments are available and the presentation of the PTA Award is made. All are encouraged to attend and understand the contribution the PTA makes to school life.

Disabled Parking Bays - Blue Badge Holders

A reminder that the disabled parking bays are for Blue Badge Holders only. Please also respect these spaces by not blocking access to them - they are required for use at all times.

Thursday 2nd March - World Book Day - Junior Girls

All the Junior Girls are invited to dress up as their favourite character. This year they can come dressed in full costume.


DRAMA - LAMDA

Selected girls have been given their LAMDA examination information - please return the reply slip and payment by Monday 20 February. Can girls bring in a prop and item of clothing to support their pieces after half term and "Don't forget to do some rehearsing of your pieces".


Reporting Absence

If your child is unwell please can you telephone the School Office on 01628 411480 before 9.30am - you can always leave a voicemail and this will get picked up when the office opens at 8.00am. A letter for the Form Tutor confirming reason for the sickness upon return to School would also be appreciated. Thank you.

Uniform Sales - Tuesday 28 February & Monday 19 June

Nearly new uniform sales being held in the Junior/Senior girls Dining Hall from 3pm to 5pm. Please find the link to the labels and 'Seller Form' for your items to be sold.


Easter Event - Saturday 18 March CCJB

Our Annual Easter Event is being held on Saturday 18 March between 12-2pm. This year the theme is Alice in Wonderland. As well as the Easter trail, where you answer the clues to win a chocolate prize, there is a competition to make a hat for the Mad Hatter, where the winning entry will receive some Amazon vouchers, and a junior bake off competition to see which budding baker can bake and decorate the best cake. The winner for this competition will receive a large chocolate egg. Details to follow after half term.

Masquerade Ball - Saturday 13 May CCJB

Who’s up for a great night out? Plan your table now, as details of how to reserve tickets for the PTA adult social event of the year will be announced after half-term.

Miss Lamond Words as Headteacher for the Day

Miss Lamond (Junior Girls) would like to say that she enjoyed her day as Headteacher signing off orders/invoices and doing very important duties in the morning assembly by giving out Headteachers awards. Lucy thinks she would like to be a Headteacher (when she is older) but is enjoying her current 'hobbies' at the moment. Well done Lucy!

DANCE SHOW 2017

We do hope you enjoyed the Dance Show 2017 (and thank you to the PE Department for all their hard work producing this). Don't forget to order your DVD - the order forms were available at each production but you can collect one from the office. We would like to send the orders to Wizard asap so please send in by Monday 20 February latest.

MUSIC EVENTS - Save the Dates!

LIBRARY NEWS - World Book Day 2017: Design a Book Token Competition

CALLING ALL BUDDING ILLUSTRATORS! DOODLE SOMETHING BOOKY TO WIN LOTS OF NATIONAL BOOK TOKENS!

As part of our celebrations for World Book Day we are asking our readers and artists to take part in a national competition to design a book-themed National Book Token. The overall winner’s design will be made into a real National Book Token gift card and distributed to hundreds of bookshops nationwide in time for Christmas – PLUS you could win up to £500 of book tokens for your school and £200 each for you and your teacher! And FIVE of our favourite entries in each age category will be added to an online gallery for everyone to see from the summer.
