American Red Cross Blood Drive

Southwestern School System will be hosting a blood drive by the American Red Cross on Friday January 22, 2016 from 9 AM until 2:00 PM. The drive will be located in buses brought by the Red Cross in the back parking lot behind Delbert O. King gymnasium. Donors are requested to sign in insidethe gymnasium doors.

Students that are 16 years of age may donate with a signed parental permission slip. They will not be able to donate without this consent form. Please see Ms. Schoch or Mr. Waller for this consent form.

All donors must have a picture identification with birth date before they will be allowed to donate.

Depending on the amount of blood collected during this blood drive, the American Red Cross will provide up to a $2500 college scholarship for Southwestern's 2016 senior class.

If you are interested in donating, please see MS. Jennifer Schoch ( to secure a time slot for giving blood. The American Red Cross representative, MS. Amy Stuber, will be in the lunchroom on Tuesday January 19, 2016 to answer any further questions or to sign up students and staff.

French Club

There will be a French Club meeting Thursday, Jan.21, before school. Meet in Dr. Hollis's room to discuss scheduling an afterschool French movie night. Any high school student interested in French language or culture is welcome - being in a French class is not required.

Drama Club

Drama Club will meet Friday, Jan. 22, before school in Dr. Hollis's room. We will be discussing producing a talent show and the spring Children's Play. New members are welcome - all High School students are invited to come see what is going on in the Drama Dept.!

Washington D. C.

One or more junior class students could win an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. this summer, June 9-16, 2016. If you are interested in learning more about this, please come to the Guidance Office. Again, this is a free trip for a week in Washington D.C.
