MUSIC AND ART AT JULIAN CURTISS
Spring Concert for Grades 3-5
Our Spring Concert is on Monday. Here are a few reminders
Please assist your child with remembering to bring their instrument to school.
Daytime dress rehearsal/performance for grades 3-5 at 9:15 AM, Evening performance for family/friends at 6:30 PM
Concert Dress: Children should wear their JC Music Department t-shirt for BOTH the morning and evening performances and a pair of black or khaki pants or a skirt for the concert. They should also wear a pair of dark colored shoes. T-shirts were distributed during the week of May 9th. Children may bring a change of clothes for after the morning performance.
We encourage you to visit the art show at 5:30 PM, prior to the concert.
Please arrive by 6:00 so children can have time to unpack, tune, and warm-up before the concert begins at 6:30. Children in band AND chorus need to set up their instrument and music before attending their chorus warm-up with Ms. Champion.

Planning for the 2022-2023 School Year

Please keep your child home when he/she exhibits any of the following symptoms and particularly those associated with symptoms of Covid-19:
● Fever greater than 100.4 F
● Any upper respiratory symptoms with or without nasal discharge
● Malaise, cough,
● Sore throat
● Sudden loss of taste or smell
● Headache
● Diarrhea &/or vomiting
● Chills ● Rash (undiagnosed – not seen by M.D.)
● Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
● Discolored eye drainage (profuse &/or thick)
● When your child feels too sick to take part in the school day
● With a positive strep culture until 24hr after antibiotics started
Your child may return to school when:
For all illnesses other than COVID-19 :
● Temperature is normal for 24 hrs. after stopping Tylenol or Ibuprofen ● student is symptom free for 24 hours
● Diarrhea &/or vomiting has stopped for 24 hrs. ● Rash has been seen by M.D. (must bring note to school nurse)
● 24 hrs. after starting antibiotics Returning after COVID-19 symptoms and evaluation:
● A note from your Health Care Provider consistent with CDC guidelines for return
● 5 days after the onset of Covid19 symptoms or a positive test, and the ability to wear a mask for the next 5 days.
● Or a note from your health care provider with an alternative ( non-covid 19) diagnosis
● A negative test with no history of exposure
Please Note:
Children unable to participate in PE class &/or recess because of injury (wearing cast, splint, or using crutches) or illness, must bring a note to the nurse from the child’s Health Care Provider indicating restrictions and the duration of restrictions.
Children who have been treated for an injury, have had surgery, or have been hospitalized even overnight must bring a note to the nurse from the child’s Health Care Provider stating they may return to school and indicating any restrictions Greenwich school district and the public health school nurses reserve from the child’s Health Care Provider stating they may return to school and indicating any restrictions
Greenwich school district and the public health school nurses reserve the right to send home any student who displays signs of ill health or injury that, in the nurse’s judgment, may jeopardize the general welfare of the student &/or the class.
Tidbits from the Library Learning Commons
Friday, June 3: Last day for student book checkout
Monday, June 20: iPad collection begins (except for summer school attendees)
We would encourage you to please start looking for any books from the LLC in your classroom libraries as they have a tendency to sneak in there once in a while. We will be printing out weekly overdue notices in effort to collect books from our students and also, have an accurate inventory of our materials.
