When did it began?

The campaign for woman's suffrage began in earnest in the decades before the civil war. Starting in 1910, some states in the west began to extend the vote to woman for the first time in almost 20 years.

Where did it start?

The Seneca Falls Convention issued the first formal demand authored by US women for suffrage.

World War I slowed the suffragists' campaign but helped them advance their argument nonetheless: Women's work on behalf go the war effort, activits pointed out, proved that they were just as patriotic and deserving of citizenship as men, and and on August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment to the constitution was finally ratified.


The 19th admenment

The nineteenth Amendment Prohibits any united states citizen from being denied the right to vote on the basics of sex. It was ratified on August 18,1920
