Report Cards Now Available in Skyward!

Report cards are now available to view in SKYWARD. As shared in previous communications, the Term 3 grade will also serve as the SEMESTER grade, UNLESS the Term 4 grade IMPROVES the semester grade. No student will be penalized by the Term 4 grade.

LC Class of 2020 Graduation Ceremonies

LC Virtual Graduation Ceremony - Wednesday, June 3rd @ 7:00 PM

  • Students and families will have the opportunity to view a televised event recognizing the class of 2020. There will be no students in attendance for this virtual event.
  • The ceremony will include the traditional dignitary speeches, the reading of graduates' names, and recognition of the class as graduates of Lawrence Central High School.
  • Details on the streaming of the event will be publicized through Mr. Bush’s communication, on the district and school websites, as well as social media.


LC Live Graduation Ceremony - Thursday, July 30th @ 7:30 PM

  • The live graduation ceremony will take place on the LC football field.
  • Students will have an opportunity to walk across the stage to be recognized and receive their diploma covers.
  • Students will rehearse for the ceremony either the day before or morning of the event.

Final Transcript Requests

Seniors must have their FINAL LC TRANSCRIPT sent electronically to the college/university that they will be attending in the fall.


Any senior that did not complete the Class of 2020 Graduation Survey or did not list the college/university that they are attending in that survey, will need to order their transcript on www.parchment.com


Once logged into Parchment, select "ORDER TRANSCRIPT" then select "HOLD FOR GRADES". LC will send your transcript electronically once grades are finalized June 2nd.

The Lawrence Central English Department is most focused on giving students space and time to read. Therefore, regardless of course level, English summer reading for all incoming freshmen and all regular English courses is for students to read a book of their choice. Students should choose a book that is somewhat challenging, but still manageable, in order to build their comprehension skills. Prepare to discuss upon return to school.


The following courses all have book of choice as summer reading unless otherwise noted: English 9, English 9 Honors, English 9 Lyceum, English 10, English 10 Honors, English 10 Lyceum, English 11, AP Language & Composition, AP Language & Composition, and English 12, AP Literature & Composition.

RSVP - Returning Student Verification Process

The Returning Student Verification Process (RSVP) facilitates the transition to a paperless online verification of a student’s return for the next school year. This process is completed through Skyward Family Access and is mandatory for all families.


In order to complete this process, you must be able to log in to Skyward Family Access. If you do not have your Skyward Family Access account information, please click here to complete the online request form. Your request will be sent to your student's school's front office registrar to be processed.


The RSVP process must be completed for each student enrolled in the district and returning for the 2020-2021 school year, as all forms for the new year are included.

Marion University COVID-19 Full Tuition Scholarship for 21st Century Scholars

Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship

The Indianapolis Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. invites all minority male seniors to participate in its local scholarship program.


To be eligible they must:

  • Graduate December 2019 or May/June, 2020, from an Indianapolis metro high school.
  • Have a college preparatory curriculum.
  • Must be admitted or enrolled in an accredited college/university program.
  • Submit the enclosed application along with an updated certified official transcript of grades.


All applications must be POSTMARKED BY MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2020. The scholarship committee will select the recipient and the decision will be final. The recipients will be notified directly. Applications may be duplicated and must be mailed and postmarked by the deadline date, JUNE 15, 2020. No faxed copies of the application package will be considered.

Women & Hi Tech exists to change the landscape of women represented in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) and related Hi Tech fields to be equally inclusive to all.


If you are or know a female or individual who identifies by the pronouns she/her/hers that is pursuing a degree or certificate in STEM in Indiana, please share the application or apply for a Women & Hi Tech scholarship or grant by July 1, 2020.

  • (1) $5,000 scholarship will be awarded to the overall top high school senior female STEM student as determined by the selection committee.

AHEC Scholars: Community Healthcare Fellows Application

The Indiana Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) Network’s Scholars program is designed specifically for applicants who have a strong interest in providing care to those living in rural and medically underserved communities across Indiana in professions such as: physicians, nurses, physician assistants, public health practitioners, respiratory therapists, physical therapists, occupational therapists, dentists, and other allied health occupations.

  • AHEC Scholars offers online learning units and community-based experiences designed to give health professions students a deeper understanding of rural and urban healthcare, caring for underserved populations, and the importance of practice transformation in a clinical care setting.
  • Fellows will focus on five core issues – behavioral health integration, cultural competency, interprofessional education, practice transformation, and social determinants of health.
  • The fellowship pays a stipend of $1500 to help support the two-year experience ($750/year).
  • Program Start Date: September 14, 2020.

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. BigSun isoffering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. S.C.W. DREAMers Scholarship

The Arizona Law Offices of Snow, Carpio & Weekley are pleased to offer the S.C.W. DREAMers Scholarship. The Scholarship is open nationwide to those who will be attending college fall semester of 2020. Applicants must be an High School Senior or undergraduate United States DREAMer.


Immigrants who meet certain criteria as listed below are referred to as DREAMers as they fill the requirements of the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act.


•Immigrant under the age of 25

•Entered the United States before age 16

•Have lived continuously in the country for at least five years

•Have not been convicted of a felony, a “significant” misdemeanor, or three other misdemeanors

Minority Engineering Program (MEP) at Purdue

In response to COVID-19, MEP will be offering the following virtual camps this summer. Scholarship assistance may be available for students who qualify for free or reduced lunch:

  • A five-week engineering Academic Boot Camp for admitted First-Year Engineering students. (1 credit-bearing).

2020 Youth Violence Prevention Fellowship

Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears is encouraging local high school students to elevate their role in reducing violence among peers by becoming Youth Violence Prevention Fellows with his office.


The Youth Violence Prevention Fellowship will provide a unique window into existing policies and create a platform for young advocates to strengthen bonds between the emerging youth movement and existing networks of advocates in pursuit of preventing youth violence in our community. This Fellowship is an ideal opportunity for a student interested in social justice and public policy.


Fellows will be based in the Public Engagement and Programs division and will be able to draw on resources and opportunities across the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office along with meetings with local political leaders and community activists outside of the office.


Fellows will work together to develop a youth-focused violence prevention project based on what they learn.


Eligibility:

  • Applicants must be Marion County residents
  • Must be high school Sophomores or Juniors, ages 15-18
  • Must commit to virtually attend the summer immersive learning sessions held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays each week from Tuesday, July 7 through Thursday, July 27, 2020

Health and Science Innovations, Inc. Virtual Summer Programs

HSI’s programs provide hands-on experience, expert support, introduction to transformative 21st-century tools, and networking opportunities for those pursuing careers or education in STEM fields.


Students learn through virtual activities, design and engineering exercises, online interaction with industry leaders, working with mentors, and more. Small group, student-led project work is central to the programs.


  • For IDEAA Summer, students design and prototype a solution to a problem of their choice.
  • For YiQ Summer, students conduct advanced research. Students from both programs present their projects to educational and industry leaders.

InvestIN Summer Internships

  • Students can also choose to attend a 1-2-1 career coaching session, where a professional will create a bespoke personal development plan for them.
